Samsung has been hinting at a next-gen “Ultra” foldable for a while now – likely the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Now, a new hands-on video featuring a Z Fold 7 dummy unit gives us a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming foldable.
South Korean tech YouTuber TheSINZA took to the platform to post a six-minute video comparing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy unit with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well as the Galaxy Z Fold SE (China and South Korea exclusives).
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is seen to be only 4.5mm thick when unfolded and 9mm thick when folded. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold SE and the Galaxy Z Fold 6, when unfolded, are 4.9mm and 5.6mm thick, respectively.
Previous rumors had also hinted at a 215g weight, which the video also backs up. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold SE both weigh 239 grams and 236 grams, respectively. This makes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Samsung's lightest book-style foldable to date.
This is added to the fact that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with the all too familiar boxy design with sharp edges. It will also likely have the same buttons and port placements, with the power and volume buttons on the right and the SIM tray on the left. The USB Type-C port will be at the bottom on the right half of the device, while the lower speaker grill will be on the left.

However, one thing seems certain – the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with a sizable camera bump. This is all the more noticeable due to the slim and trim form factor of the foldable. The triple rear camera setup protrudes a lot on the dummy unit and will very likely translate the same way in the final unit.
And while on the cameras, another interesting bit of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the inner-display selfie camera. From the looks of it, the dummy Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a punch-hole selfie camera on the inner display. This is a clear shift from what Samsung did earlier with an under display camera (UDC) module.
As of now, we are not sure if this is going to be true. However, a punch-hole camera module, although it will ruin the continuous display aesthetics, can offer a better picture quality as compared to UDC cameras.
With that being said, the video focused only on the physical elements of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and revealed close to nothing about its core specifications.
What to Expect from Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra?

If we go by previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come with a 6.5-inch 120Hz cover display and an 8-inch 120Hz inner foldable panel. Samsung might further reduce the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but we don't know for sure. Even the video failed to enlighten us on the same.
Under the hood, it recently came to light that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It might also pack a 4,400 mAh battery with the same 25W charging speed. Expect the device to run on Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
On the camera front, the rear module can feature a 200 MP main sensor, paired with a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens and another 12 MP ultra-wide module. As of now, nothing is known about the selfie cameras of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Other than that, expect it to launch with the latest connectivity features like Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and more. However, we will know for sure in the coming few days.
