After months of teasers, leaks, buildups and anticipation, Samsung has finally lifted the curtains off of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 globally and in India. The device was announced alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 devices at its annual Galaxy Unpacked event. With that said, let's dive into the complete specifications, pricing and availability details of the brand-new book-style foldable from Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Specifications and Features
One of the most striking feature of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is its overall design and form factor. While Samsung is sticking to the same boxy design language with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it has managed to make the smartphone substantially thin and lightweight.
This is Samsung's slimmest book-style foldable yet with a mere 4.2mm of thickness when unfolded and 8.9mm of thickness when folded. It is also lightweight at 215 grams. However, Samsung has not compromised on the durability of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
It features the Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the outer display. The mid-frame is made out of advanced armour aluminium and there is Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection at the back. The same strengthened aluminium is used for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 hinge, dubbed as Armor FlexHinge.
Speaking of the displays themselves, on the outside, Samsung is using a 6.5-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The inner foldable screen is an 8-inch QXGA+ 120 Hz LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. Both the cover screen and inner panel are bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, up from 6.3-inch and 7.6-inch, respectively.
The panels themselves pack more pixels as well this year. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold 7's inner display sports a resolution of 2184 x 1968 pixels, which is up from 2160 x 1856 pixels on the Z Fold 6. Meanwhile, the cover screen has taken a big leap from an HD+ resolution of 968 x 2376 pixels to a Full HD+ 2520 x 1080 pixels.

Now, coming to the optics, there is a triple camera setup on the back of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, aligned vertically in a pill-shaped module. However, instead of a 50 MP sensor, this year, there's a 200 MP main sensor with OIS.
However, the other sensors remain the same with a 10 MP 3x periscope telephoto lens and a 12 MP 120˚ ultra-wide sensor. It also comes with dual 10 MP selfie cameras – one on the inner display and another on the cover screen.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and can be paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. That is definitely a bump in performance in comparison to last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Battery capacity remains the same at 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 runs on Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. It brings all the granular customisation features and quirks that are signature to the Samsung One UI experience, along with its suite of Galaxy AI features.
There are several AI-based productivity as well as communication features like Now Brief, Natural Language Search, AI Select, Note Assist, Call Assist and Call Transcript, and more. Samsung is promising 7 years of software and security upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device is further protected by Samsung Knox security with Knox Vault.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, dual 5G SIM support, e-SIM support and a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 port.
Apart from this, the device is IP48 rated for dust and water resistance, comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a stereo speaker setup and comes with Ultra Wideband (UWB) support.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Price in India and Sale Date
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 starts from $1,999 (approximately Rs 1,71,000) for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant. There's also a 12 GB + 512 GB and a 16 GB + 1 TB variant as well for the foldable.
All three variants are already up for pre-orders in the U.S via the official Samsung website and Amazon. Meanwhile, general availability starts from July 25, 2025.
Interested buyers can get the foldable in the Silver Shadow, Jet Black and Blue Shadow colour options. There is also a Mint colourway available exclusively via the Samsung website.
