From the newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 to the triple-folding Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, Samsung's foldables have reached a point where big redesigns are no longer surprising. That's probably why Samsung's experimentation with a "wide" foldable is so exciting and something to look forward to. Well, thanks to a new leak, we have our very first look at what could be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide leaked renders reveal design

As per a fresh report by Android Headlines, in collaboration with popular tipster OnLeaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (codenamed H8 with model number SM-F971U) will be launching "later this year" to specifically compete with the much-anticipated iPhone Fold.

From the looks of it, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide looks like a warped, shorter version of the Galaxy S25 Edge, especially due to that vertical camera module at the back.

The wide foldable form factor is quite evident through the dimensions listed as well, with the Galaxy Z Fold Wide measuring 123.9 x 82.8 x 9.8mm thick when unfolded and about 4.9mm thick when folded.

In comparison, the regular Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to measure around 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded and just 4.5mm when unfolded, keeping things slim and premium.

However, do note that these are CAD-based renders and the final product can be quite different. Fortunately, that's not all that we know about the upcoming foldable, as the latest report also spills the beans on some of its key specifications.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Specifications and Price (Leaked)

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to sport a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner display, making the wide foldable's real estate quite a bit smaller.

However, as folks over at Android Headlines rightfully note, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide will compensate with its form factor, as displays are ultimately measured diagonally.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage. A 5,000mAh battery is likely to fuel the wide foldable, paired with most likely 45W wired fast charging and 25W wireless charging.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide price, we could expect it to be around the ballpark of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is $2,000 in the US and Rs 1,74,999 in India.

With the Galaxy Z Wide Fold launch date expected to be set for the summer of 2026, around July, we can expect the foldable to appear a lot more times at the rumour mill. So, stay tuned.
