Following the launch of the Tab A1 Plus earlier this year, the company has officially launched the TCL Tab A1 Plus NXTPAPER in the US, bringing its e-ink-like display technology to a more affordable package.
TCL Tab A1 Plus NXTPAPER Specifications and Features
While its design is pretty much identical to the standard Tab A1 Plus, what separates both of them is their displays. The NXTPAPER variant features a 12.2-inch panel with a 2400 x 1600 resolution, which runs at a 120 Hz refresh rate.

TCL applies its specialised NXTPAPER coating over the LCD, creating a matte, anti-glare surface that mimics the look and feel of real paper. Besides, to take advantage of this feature, the tablet comes with a dedicated NXTPAPER Key, which can be used to switch between the standard and Colour Paper mode.
There's also a high-contrast black-and-white Ink Paper mode optimised fully for reading. Besides, TCL has updated its VersaView software, allowing users to run specific apps in standard colour while the rest of the interface remains in paper mode.

Beyond the display, the NXTPAPER edition packs a few hardware upgrades over its standard sibling. It houses a massive 10,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast wired charging, a huge bump from the standard model's 8,000mAh cell.
Internally, it utilises the same Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, paired with 256 GB of storage. It includes 6 GB of physical RAM, which can be dynamically expanded by an additional 10 GB using virtual memory. The tablet also features 8 MP cameras on both the front and back, quad speakers and runs Android 16.
