Last month, Tecno introduced its affordable Pop X 4G smartphone in India, catering to the under Rs 10,000 segment. Now, for those who have been waiting for a 5G sequel, Tecno is officially debuting the Pop X 5G next week with an eye-catchy design and some noteworthy specifications.
Tecno Pop X 5G India Launch Confirmed for April 20
The Tecno Pop X 5G will launch in India on April 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST. A dedicated Amazon microsite confirms the launch date and also gives us our first look at the design of the upcoming phone as well as the improvements it brings over the Tecno Pop X 4G.
Tecno Pop X 5G Design Showcased
The immediately noticeable change with the Tecno Pop X 5G is its design. It deviates from the budget look that Tecno shipped with the Pop X 4G and adopts the more premium and refined look of the Tecno Spark 50 5G.
Even though the back and mid-frame is still made out of plastic, the camera deco now incorporates grade 6 aerospace aluminium. The phone will be offered in a minimal but vibrant indigo blue colour options and a greenish-beige gradient option with abstract pattern at the back.
Tecno Pop X 5G Specifications Confirmed
Speaking of Tecno Pop X 5G specs, it is confirmed to feature a bigger 6,500mAh battery with improved 45W fast USB-C charging. To recall, the Pop X 4G shipped with a 5,000mAh cell and supported only 15W charging.
The phone is also confirmed to feature IP64 dust and water protection rating, MIL-STD-810H durability certification, up to 18 GB of virtual RAM expansion and USRP 3.0 technology for improved network speed and connectivity.
Tecno Pop X 5G Price in India (Expected)
In terms of price, Tecno Pop X 5G could launch in India for less than Rs 15,000. It could bring 6 GB of base RAM and 128 GB of base storage. However, we will know for sure next week when the phone will officially go live on the Amazon India website.
