Tecno has launched the Pova 8 Pro in India just about two months after the regular Pova 8 debuted in the country with its Alive Matrix Display and 8,000mAh battery. The Pro variant builds on the foundation but pushes further into gaming performance and cameras, positioning itself as the more premium pick in the lineup.
Pova 8 Pro Specifications and Features
Design-wise, the Pova 8 Pro sticks with the "Interstellar Spaceship" aesthetic introduced with the standard Pova 8, retaining the same dot-matrix Alive Matrix Display built into the camera island.
It uses Mini LED technology with 177 individually controlled LED beads, capable of syncing across more than 49 scenarios, from incoming calls and messages to gaming sessions and file transfers.

The phone also comes with a dedicated customisable shortcut key that can be single-tapped, long-pressed and double-pressed for different actions and features.
Up front, the phone houses a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution (2644 x 1208 pixels) and peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits. To make binge-watching your favourite shows more immersive, there are Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers as well. For security, there's also an under-display fingerprint scanner.

On the durability front, the Pova 8 Pro is a notable step up, carrying IP68, IP69, IP69K, and IP66 ratings for dust and water resistance. There's also Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the display. It measures 7.39mm thick and weighs 189 grams.
Performance-wise, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset, paired with a dedicated Tecno P1 Graphic Chipset for gaming. Gamers can also make use of 4D game vibrations for more immersion.
Additionally, it is backed by a 5,000 mm² vapour chamber for cooling. Memory options go up to 24 GB of RAM (12 GB + 12 GB Extended) and 512 GB of storage.

On the software front, the phone runs HiOS 16, based on Android 16, out of the box. The brand is also promising two years of major OS updates and three years of security patches.
The brand is also marketing the phone with a slew of AI features, like a dedicated call assistant that "summarises every customer call with AI and automatically creates follow-ups and to-dos."

There's also an AI Studio, which brings photo editing features like AI Flare Remover, AI Reflection Remover, AI Shadow Remover and AI Auto Zoom. In addition, there's an AI Doc Scanner to help users edit, enhance and export documents.
On the camera front, the Pova 8 Pro features a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera with OIS, joined by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, while a 13 MP camera handles selfies up front. Some highlighted camera features include Slow Motion and Motion Trail.

Rounding out the package is a 6,500mAh battery with 45W Super Charge fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging via a USB-C port. Standard connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC.
That said, here's a quick rundown of the phone's key specifications:
