Summary

  • The Tukzer LED Selfie Ring Light offers an affordable way to experiment with content creation without investing in an expensive setup.
  • Its flexible arm, phone holder and adjustable LED ring light make it easier to record videos.
  • Tukzer LED Selfie Ring Light is priced at Rs 799 and is a handy starting point for beginner content creators on a tight budget.

While you'll usually find me writing smartphone reviews and news stories for Beebom Gadgets, I also enjoy recording little guitar sessions for Instagram Reels. I've been wanting to experiment with content creation, but looking at all the equipment creators, including our Beebom team, use made me realise how expensive getting started can be.

I didn't want to spend a fortune on tripods, phone mounts and lights before figuring out exactly what kind of content I enjoy making or whether I'd stick with it. That's where the Tuzker LED Selfie Ring Light with Phone Holder came in handy.

A Simple Setup to Get Started with Content Creation

What I like about this Tuzker accessory is that it combines a few essentials into one relatively simple setup. You get a flexible gooseneck arm, a desk clamp, an adjustable smartphone holder and a 3.5-inch LED ring light. It isn't a professional recording rig, but it's precisely the point.

The flexible arm can bend and rotate 360 degrees, allowing me to experiment with different camera angles without constantly rearranging my setup. I can position my phone to capture a wider shot to show the chords I'm playing or bring it closer when I want to focus on my hands playing the strings.

It's also useful for plenty of other things. I've used similar phone setups for following cooking tutorials, recording short videos, attending video calls and watching content hands-free. The clamp attaches to a desk or table, so I don't have to keep balancing my phone against books or random objects anymore.

The Ring Light Makes a Genuine Difference

The built-in 3.5-inch LED ring light is another useful addition. It offers three colour temperatures (the warmest setting is my favourite for that yellowish hue) and 10 brightness levels. This lets me adjust the lighting depending on what I'm recording and the available room lighting.

I don't have to invest in a separate light to experiment with making videos. The ring light is USB-powered, so it's easy to use with a compatible power source. What makes the Tuzker LED Selfie Ring Light with Phone Holder appealing to me is that it lowers the barrier to getting started.

For just Rs 799 (available on Amazon), I can experiment with different types of content, figure out what works and gradually understand what equipment I actually need before investing in a more elaborate setup.

Of course, it won't replace a proper tripod, dedicated lighting or professional recording equipment. But if you're a beginner like me who wants to try content creation without spending too much upfront, this is a convenient little place to start.

Sometimes, you don't need an expensive creator setup to take the first step. You just need something that helps you not give up and get going.
