Vivo has officially launched the S2 in India, bringing the brand's design-focused S-series back to the country after a six-year absence. The phone arrives as the successor to the Vivo S1, which debuted back in 2019 as a budget offering. This time around, Vivo is positioning the S2 higher up the ladder, leaning heavily on its curved display and slim build.
Vivo S2 Specifications and Features
The biggest highlight of the Vivo S2 is undoubtedly its 6.83-inch curved 120 Hz AMOLED display, with a resolution of 2800 x 1260, a pixel density of 449 PPI, and support for the P3 wide colour gamut. It also offers up to 3,000 nits of local peak brightness and uses VM9 light-emitting material. There's an in-display optical fingerprint sensor to make use of.
Despite the display and internals, Vivo has kept the phone slim, measuring 164.42 x 75.25 x 7.99mm and weighing 197 grams for the Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze variants, while the Silk White version is marginally thicker at 8.10mm and weighs 199 grams, owing to its plastic composite back panel.
Powering the Vivo S2 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, an octa-core chipset built on a 4nm process with four performance cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz. It's paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM (VRAM expansion up to 8 GB) and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Storage isn't expandable via microSD on either variant.
On the camera front, the Vivo S2 sports a 50 MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, joined by a 2 MP f/2.4 lens and a single-tone LED flash. Up front is a 32 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording and the camera app includes Dual-View Video mode, letting users record from both cameras simultaneously. Additional features include Night mode, Portrait mode, 50 MP high-resolution mode, Ultra-HD document scanning, Super Moon mode and more.
Battery life comes from a 7,050mAh cell with 44W wired fast charging support. Durability is also a highlight here, with the Vivo S2 carrying both IP68 and IP69 ratings.
Rounding out the spec sheet are Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB-C 2.0, GPS with support for GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou, and OTG. NFC and FM radio are notably absent. The phone ships with OriginOS 6 running on top of Android 16.
