Vivo is all set to launch its Y500 smartphone in China on September 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM CST (or 4:30 PM IST). It's a mid-range device that's expected to boast a large battery, with a focus on durability as well.
Vivo confirmed the Y500's China launch via the firm's official Weibo handle. The post mentions some of the highlights of the device, notably its large 8,200mAh battery and IP69+/IP69/IP68 water and dust resistance.

The firm also posted a follow-up post, further teasing the phone's durability. The embedded images market the phone's ability to survive in extreme temperatures, water pressure and drop resistance.
Vivo claims the phone has achieved five stars in fall resistance by the SGS standard. The water resistance and durability of the Y500 were teased by Vivo a few days ago.
The posts don't reveal much beyond the battery and durability. However, leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset could power the phone. Besides, it's expected to boast a Full HD+ 120Hz OLED display, a 50 MP primary rear camera and an 8 MP selfie snapper.

Another leak points toward the phone featuring a 6.77-inch display, charging at 90W and weighing around 213 grams.. It also reveals that Vivo could rebrand the Y500 as the Vivo T5 or iQOO Z11 in India. This makes sense considering Vivo recently unveiled the Vivo Y400 and Y400 Pro a few months ago.
Vivo's posts so far reveal the device in three colourways – Black, Blue and Lavender. Besides that, not much is known about the device yet. Considering the launch is less than a week away, more details should emerge as we inch closer.
The pricing of the Y500, too, is currently unknown, but stay tuned as we expect to see more official details surface in the coming days.
