Vodafone Idea (Vi) has been trying new things this year, since it got a new logo with Shah Rukh Khan as the brand's face. At the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, the telecom operator has shown off Vinzy, Vi's own personal AI assistant that can handle phone calls and speak multiple languages.
According to Vi (via TelecomTalk), Vinzy is a personal AI assistant built into the Vi app. The AI assistant's primary function will be to help manage calls, commitments and automate everyday tasks. Vinzy AI will be able to answer certain calls on the user's behalf and pass on instructions.
The report says that Vinzy can talk to callers in their preferred language and it can also handle almost any type of voice call that Vi users receive. To put it simply, Vinzy works more like a personal receptionist that picks up calls for users. Vinzy can speak 15 Indian languages.

Moreover, as per the report, setting up Vinzy will be fairly straightforward. Users will need to open the Vi app and answer a set of setup questions to let the AI know their preferences. There will be options to choose what type of calls Vinzy is allowed to handle and users can even rename it for personalisation.
That said, Vinzy is still just a prototype. Vi hasn't said when, or even if, it will launch for users. It also has not shared any details about pricing. However, Vi isn't the only telecom company working on an AI assistant for calls. At its AGM in June 2026, Reliance Jio announced its own AI Call Agent.
