Xiaomi will reportedly expand its current flagship 17 series lineup with the Xiaomi 17 Max. Looks like Xiaomi will indeed be maxing out the battery capacity here, with the phone now said to arrive with a massive 8,000mAh unit.
Xiaomi 17 Max may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 17 Max could feature a massive 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. If true, this would let it dethrone the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (7,500mAh battery) to flaunt the biggest battery capacity in the lineup.
However, Xiaomi may not be compromising the performance either here, as the smartphone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Additionally, DCS suggests that just like the rest of the lineup, the Xiaomi 17 Max could use the same LIPO technology for the display that's responsible for symmetrical bezels. The camera specifications of the Xiaomi 17 Max are said to remain the same as the standard Xiaomi 17 as well.
The upcoming phone could feature a 50 MP triple rear camera setup consisting of wide and ultrawide cameras. However, the Max could substitute the telephoto with a periscope, fixing the zoom limitations of the base model.

The leak also suggests that the phone could get better speakers. Xiaomi could also be maxing out on the display size at around 6.8 inches to stay true to the moniker. This could make the Xiaomi 17 Max a solid option for those who binge-watch a lot of content on their phones on a daily basis.
The Xiaomi 17 Max launch date is currently unknown, but considering it's just a larger Xiaomi 17 with a larger screen, more battery and a periscope lens, it should launch pretty soon. More information about the same should be unveiled in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
