Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launched in India with Leica APO Telephoto Lens and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is finally official in India, after launching in China back in December 2025. This is the top-of-the-line smartphone from Xiaomi, which is once again set to redefine smartphone photography, with the industry's first Leica APO-certified telephoto camera.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Specifications and Features

Right off the bat, the most striking feature of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its cameras. This is the first co-created smartphone between Leica and Xiaomi. It ditches the quad camera setup of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for a Leica Summilux-backed triple rear camera setup. It is led by a 50 MP 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L main sensor that is designed to deliver improved light capture, dynamic range and overall image fidelity.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also the industry's first smartphone to gain Leica's APO-certified telephoto lens. It is paired with a 200 MP 5x Samsung HPE periscope telephoto camera, which offers 5x optical zoom, enhanced long-range photography, improved colour accuracy and reduced chromatic aberration.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra price in India has been set at Rs 1,39,999 for the single 16 GB + 512 GB variant. However, thanks to early bird offers running from March 13 to March 17, 2026, interested folks will be able to grab the smartphone in Leica Black, Leica White and Starry Sky Green colourways, for Rs 1,29,999.
