The Xiaomi 18 is shaping up to be one of the most interesting compact flagships of the year. Previous leaks have already hinted at the phone featuring a next-generation Snapdragon chipset and a revamped camera system. However, a new leak now suggests that the Xiaomi 18 could arrive with a battery capacity of over 7,000mAh.
Xiaomi 18 Battery Capacity Tipped
Tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to share that Xiaomi is reportedly testing the Xiaomi 18 with a 7,200mAh battery. If true, it would bring an impressive 870mAh capacity increase over the 6,330 mAh battery on the Xiaomi 17. A previous leak from the tipster also points to 100W fast wired charging and wireless charging accompanying the larger battery.

In the latest leak, the tipster also reiterates that the phone is being tested with a 2nm flagship chipset. An earlier Xiaomi 18 processor leak suggests this could be Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. This could make it one of the first phones to arrive with the next-generation flagship SoC.
In addition, the latest leak also talks of the Xiaomi 18 being "medium-sized", which falls in line with earlier reports indicating that the phone will feature a compact flagship design. The phone is said to sport a slightly larger 6.4-inch flat display than the predecessor's 6.3-inch screen. Moreover, the bigger display is said to be accompanied by an upgraded 2K resolution (up from 1.5K on the Xiaomi 17) and ultra-narrow bezels.
Cameras could be another area of upgrade as leaks point to a 200 MP main sensor, a solid step up over the 50 MP main sensor on the Xiaomi 17.
Beyond the hardware, an earlier Xiaomi 18 design leak also hinted that the phone could look like the iPhone 16 Pro with a similar camera deco design and flash placement.
The Xiaomi 18 is expected to launch alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro in September 2026. With a few months still to go, more details about the lineup should surface in the coming weeks.
