Back in August 2025, Xiaomi launched the HyperOS 3 update based on Android 16 and it brought improved ecosystem integration and cross-platform support. Now, with the upcoming HyperOS 3.1 update, it is said to take it a notch up by bringing seamless connection between iPhones and Xiaomi smartphones.
HyperOS 3.1 Might Let Xiaomi Phones Handle iPhone Calls and AirPods Controls
As per tech publication GizChina, Xiaomi will make HyperOS 3.1 official at Mobile World Congress (MWC) on March 2, 2026. One of the standout features of the new OS skin will be something called the 'iOS Bridge'.

As the name suggests, the upcoming feature will help Xiaomi phones connect seamlessly to iPhones. One of the key HyperOS 3.0 features was cross-device connectivity. It included options for Xiaomi phones to connect to MacBooks, iPads and even iPhones.
Now, with iOS Bridge, the brand is taking it a step further in three key ways. First, with iPhone call alerts, Xiaomi phones, tablets and PCs will be able to display the call notification of the connected iPhone. It will even allow users to manage calls from Xiaomi devices without the need for an iPhone.

Next, with enhanced AirPods integration, Xiaomi phones, laptops and other devices will be able to display details like battery percentage, noise controls and also ANC toggles. Lastly, with direct file sharing, Xiaomi devices will be able to send and receive all file formats from iPhones without needing any third-party application.
This is a big development since even with HyperOS 3.0, Xiaomi has to rely on dedicated apps to enable interconnected features with iPhones. With the new Xiaomi iOS Bridge feature, the friction and hassle will be essentially removed.
At the time of writing, we are not sure as to how exactly this new feature will work. However, given that the report claims it will be unveiled at MWC 2026, we will just have to wait another week before it goes official.
Xiaomi has also planned several other HyperOS 3.1 features, including a Stacked Layout Style in recent apps, Xiaomi Super Island updates, new folder sizes and more.
