While the Samsung Keyboard is quite feature-rich, to change its background, you need to install another app. Yes, it's not built into One UI to keep the system bloat-free. However, some users like to customise the keyboard and add a custom wallpaper to the keyboard for a personal flair. If you are one of them, follow our tutorial and learn how to change Samsung Keyboard background in no time.
How to Change Samsung Keyboard Background
Samsung has its own Good Lock app that lets you modify various parts of One UI on through plugins. You can install the Theme Park and Keys Cafe apps from Good Lock and change the way the Samsung Keyboard looks and feels. Here's how to do it.
Change Samsung Keyboard Background Using Theme Park
To actually change the Samsung Keyboard background on your Samsung phone, you can either install the 'Theme Park' app or install its plugin via the Good Lock app; both offer the same functionality. After that, you can add your custom background to the Samsung Keyboard. Here are the steps to follow.
- Go ahead and install the Theme Park app via the Galaxy Store on your Samsung phone.
- Now, launch the Theme Park app and move to the Keyboard tab.
- Here, hit the Create new button and tap on the image icon on the keyboard.

- You can now choose a custom background from the Gallery app.
- The selected image will be applied as your keyboard background.

- Tap on the Download icon at the top right and type a name for your keyboard to save it.
- Now, simply tap on the keyboard that you just created and hit Apply.

This will change the background on your Samsung Keyboard.
Customise Samsung Keyboard Using Keys Cafe
There is another Good Lock plugin called 'Keys Cafe' that lets you fully customise the Samsung Keyboard. You can change colours, add keyboard effects and even customise the sound when you tap on keys. You can also apply dark mode on Samsung Keyboard within seconds. Follow the below steps.
- Install the Keys Cafe app on your Samsung phone and launch it.
- Next, go to the Keyboard tab and apply one of the pre-built themes for the keyboard.
- If you want to design your own keyboard, tap on the + icon inside the "MY" section.
- Here, you can select different colour combinations to apply them.

- You can then move to the Background tab to choose your own colour.
- Next, under "Effects", choose your preferred Keyboard animation, Key colour and Key motion.

- If you want, you can also tap on the Sound tab and pick a specific tone for every key press.
- Finally, tap on the Save button and apply the new Samsung Keyboard theme.

And that's pretty much it. To simply change the Samsung Keyboard background, Theme Park is the only app you need to install. However, to customise the Samsung Keyboard, it's recommended to use Keys Cafe, as it offers deep customisation options. Note that Theme Park is a companion app for Keys Cafe, so you need it for Keys Cafe to function.
