Summary

  • To check your Oppo phone's model name or number, head over to Settings > About device.
  • You can also do it by checking the white label on the original retail packaging of your Oppo phone.
  • Lastly, there's a secret code you can invoke to get into Engineer Mode and check your phone's model number.

Whether you're looking to buy a case, check for software updates or get technical support, you need to know your phone's exact model name and number. With so many different Oppo phones in the market, it can be confusing to know which one you have. Therefore, let's look at how to find your Oppo phone's model.

Find out your Oppo phone's model name and number from Settings app

The easiest way to find the model name/number of your Oppo phone is by going to the settings. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app and tap on About device.
  2. You will then see the Device name listed at the top. This is what your phone's model name is.
  3. Right below that will be the Model section where you will see the official model number, that's usually alphanumeric.

Check your Oppo phone's original box for model number

If you still have the original retail packaging of your Oppo phone, the model information is printed on it and easy to find. Grab the box of your Oppo phone and look for a white sticker on the outside of it, usually located at the bottom or back.

The sticker will list the Model name and the specific Model number, alongside your phone's IMEI, which you can use to check your Oppo phone's warranty.

Look for Oppo phone model number using Engineering Mode

If you cannot access the Settings app on your Oppo phone for any reason, there's a slightly more technical way to find out your Oppo phone's model number. Here's how:

  1. Open the Phone app on your Oppo phone and enter the following code – *#899#.
Enter the engineer mode code and dial it

  1. This will open the Engineer Mode with a blue and white menu. Here, tap on Software version.
  2. Now look for the Model section on the screen, which will indicate your Oppo phone's model number.

And that's it. That's how you can easily identify your Oppo phone's model number. Now that you know the model number, you can check the warranty of your Oppo phone, or let service officials know exactly which phone you own to diagnose issues better. Knowing your model number also makes everything from buying accessories to getting the right support much simpler.
