Ai+ Nova Flip 5G Launch Date in India Confirmed: Key Specifications and Design Revealed

The Ai+ Nova Flip launch date in India is finally official and the much-awaited first flip phone from the brand will debut on April 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST alongside the Nova 2 and Nova Ultra. Thanks to a dedicated Flipkart microsite now live, we also get to know of some key Ai+ Nova Flip specifications, along with a good look at its design. 

Ai+ Nova Flip Design Showcased

The Ai+ Nova Flip 5G follows a rather familiar clamshell-like design with a large inner folding display and a smaller cover display. In fact, at first glance, the Ai+ Nova Flip 5G looks identical to the Nubia Flip 2 5G, which launched back in 2025.

From the rectangular cover display with rounded edges to the floating dual lens design and the Ring LED flash, the design "inspiration" is clearly evident.

Ai+ Nova Flip Specifications

However, it's not just the design that seems familiar, as the Ai+ Nova Flip 5G draws inspiration on the specifications front too. For starters, both bring a 120 Hz 10-bit foldable AMOLED display with 1,200 nits peak brightness and 443 pixels per inch (PPI) density. However, the Nova Flip 5G is relatively shorter at 6.78 inches compared to the 6.9-inch display of the Flip 2.

Moreover, Ai+ has even decided to use the same Dimensity 7300x mid-range processor inside the Nova Flip 5G, as that of the Nubia Flip 2. For those unaware, it is the same as the Dimensity 7300 processor in terms of performance, but comes with dual-screen support. 

For cameras, both use the same 50 MP main sensor and a 2 MP secondary lens. However, the Nova Flip 5G has a downgraded 13 MP selfie camera compared to the 32 MP on the Flip 2.

Battery-wise, it brings the same 4,325mAh cell capacity as the Flip 2 and sports an identical 7.2mm thickness when folded. As for the rest, Ai+ Nova Flip 5G will use the brand's in-house nxtQ OS skin based on Android 15.

All in all, the upcoming Ai+ Nova Flip 5G is no doubt a repackaged Nubia Flip 2 5G. Since this is the first folding phone from the brand, it is understandable that Ai+ is taking inspiration from a phone that has proven its track record.

Also, a key deciding factor of the Nova Flip's success with depend on pricing. Given Ai+'s value-driven market positioning, we expect the Nova Flip 5G to start under Rs 50,000. Thankfully, with the launch happening in just two days, we won't have to wait long to know.
