Apple could have more than just new iPhones and an Apple Watch to show off at its September 2026 hardware event. The company is reportedly preparing two new AirPods 5 models, giving buyers a choice between a standard version and a more premium variant with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

According to a recent report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to unveil the two AirPods 5 models. Users could choose between the standard AirPods with no ANC and a slightly more premium version equipped with Active Noise Cancellation. However, Gurman didn't reveal their exact specifications or potential improvements over their predecessors.

The AirPods 5 could arrive alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models and iPhone Ultra, Apple's first foldable smartphone. iPhone Ultra recently won over early testers who were impressed by its pocketability.

Besides, Apple may also release the Apple Watch Series 12, which is set to get more conventional upgrades. Speaking of which, Apple is exploring new watch designs for future Apple Watches, including differently shaped dials and potentially screen-free wearables like the recently launched Fitbit Air from Google.

This info arrives after Gurman previously noted that Apple won't launch camera-equipped AirPods Pro until 2027. These headsets will rely on Visual Intelligence and Siri to power advanced AI features, including the integration of more health-tracking features.

Interestingly, a demo clip showcasing camera-equipped AirPods accidentally leaked inside the macOS 26.7 release candidate. However, it offered only a few physical design clues.

Lastly, Gurman also hinted that a new Mac Mini could launch soon, in the coming weeks, before Apple's September 2026 event. More information about the keynote and its exact date should be revealed as we transition into September 2026, so stay tuned.
