Apple has officially launched the HomeView, its first dedicated smart home display designed to bring entertainment, video calling and connected home controls to a single device. Powered by Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI, the HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, personalised user profiles and an integrated speaker system.
Apple HomeView Features and Specifications
The Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display housed in an aluminium case, connected to a domed speaker vase via a stainless steel hinge. The tabletop variant supports adjustable viewing angles, while the wall-mounted version is meant for spaces like entryways and hallways.

However, both models feature the same display and core functionality. The display supports True Tone and automatic brightness adjustment ranging from 0.3 nits to 500 nits. Its interface also adapts to the user's distance, displaying simpler information from across the room and more detailed content when they move closer.
The tabletop Apple HomeView is available in Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink and Space Grey colour options. The wall-mounted variant is offered in Space Grey and Silver and supports dedicated mounting accessories from Schneider Home.

Siri AI and Personalised Profiles
The Apple HomeView supports the revamped Siri AI, which supports general knowledge queries, improved music discovery and on-screen awareness.

When paired with Apple Intelligence supported devices, Siri AI can also draw on personal context from apps like Messages and Calendar to provide more personalised responses and take actions across supported apps. Also, conversations started on the HomeView can continue across compatible Apple devices through the Siri app.

The smart display can recognise up to six people through facial recognition, giving each household member a personalised Home Screen with their own apps and widgets. Personal information remains separate between users, while shared photo albums and music can be accessed by the household.

The Apple HomeView also comes in handy as an entertainment hub, featuring two custom full-range drivers in the display, a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base.

Users can access Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps. The device also supports multiroom audio when paired with other HomeView units, HomePod speakers or AirPlay-compatible speakers.
For communication, the Apple HomeView supports FaceTime with Center Stage, which keeps participants in the frame as they move around. Users can also read and respond to Messages using voice commands or the on-screen keyboard.

There's also an Intercom feature which lets users broadcast announcements to other compatible devices around the house. The device also offers smart home controls via the Apple Home app. Users can adjust lights and thermostats, lock doors, close blinds and view connected security camera feeds. Its Home Camera interface can display up to nine video feeds simultaneously.
With compatible cameras and an eligible iCloud+ subscription, the HomeView can also provide notifications for recognised people, pets, packages and vehicles. It can detect the sound of smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and send alerts to connected Apple iPhones, iPads or Watches.

Apple HomeView Privacy Features
Apple says the HomeView has been designed with privacy and security at its heart. Its Apple A18 chipset includes Secure Exclaves, which isolate camera and microphone data processing from the rest of the system.
Personal information from apps like Messages and Calendar is displayed only when the enrolled user is recognised and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and has been recently unlocked.
Siri requests are processed on-device or through Apple's Private Cloud Compute system. The Cupertino giant says that it does not store users' data or make it accessible to Apple when cloud processing is used.
