After releasing the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta on September 24, 2025, Apple has now started rolling out the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 2 build today. This is the second iOS 26.1 developer beta build which, instead of bringing major overhaul, focuses on meaningful tweaks.
iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 2 brings minor system enhancements and improvements
After almost a month of iOS 26 stable build release, we are now getting the second developer beta for iOS 26.1. This takes the iOS 26.1 developer beta build identifier from 23B5044l to 23B5059e. As part of this new update, iOS 26-supported devices will now notice subtle changes across the UI in terms of design and system performance.

Other than that, with the first iOS 26.1 Developer Beta, Apple added support for languages like Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese to Apple Intelligence. So, expect the second build to reflect the same as well.
Apart from this, other existing changes include Liquid Glass effects in the Apple keyboard, a wider Safari tab bar, a new seek bar in the Photos app, Apple Music tweaks and more
Eligible developers can install the latest iOS 26.1 Public Beta by heading over to Settings> General> Software Update> Update Now. That said, we also expect Apple to release the second developer beta build of iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1 and visionOS 26.1.
