After releasing the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta on September 24, 2025, Apple has now started rolling out the iOS 26.1 Public Beta build. This is the first iOS 26.1 stable update and brings minor features and improvements.
iOS 26.1 Public Beta adds new language support for Apple Intelligence and Live Translation
A week after the iOS 26 stable build release, we are now getting the first public beta for iOS 26.1. As part of this new update, iOS 26-supported devices will now be able to support Apple Intelligence in the following languages: Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.

Even Live Translation in AirPods will now support Japanese, Korean, Italian and Chinese (both Mandarin Traditional and Simplified), as part of the iOS 26.1 Public Beta build.
Apart from this, with the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta, Apple added the support for Liquid Glass effects in the keyboard, a wider Safari tab bar, a new seek bar in the Photos app, Apple Music tweaks and more. So, expect to see these changes reflect with the public build as well.
Eligible users can install the latest iOS 26.1 Public Beta by heading over to Settings > General > Software Update > Update Now. Alongside iOS 26.1, Apple has also started the rollout of first public beta updates of iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1 and visionOS 26.1.
