Shortly after announcing iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 last week, Apple released the first developer beta of iOS 27 for eligible iPhones. While most of the update focused on new features including the arrival of Siri AI, a lot of the small details came into notice much later. One such is the new iOS 27 Preview easter egg which was previously only limited to iPadOS 26.
iOS 27 Preview App Gets Interactive Liquid Glass-Inspired Loupe
First spotted by Threads user Marcus Mendes, the magnifying loupe icon on the iOS 27 Preview app is also interactive, as it already is on iPadOS 26. iOS 27 users can place it anywhere on the main screen and can get a similar distorted effect as one would get by sliding a magnifying glass on text.

This is a fun little easter egg in the iOS 27 update and it also shows off Apple's Liquid Glass design language. For those unaware, the Preview app launched on Apple iPhones last year with iOS 26. The app acts as the built-in image and PDF viewer in iOS, iPadOS and macOS, with users also being able to use it to annotate and edit documents.
Hence, it is cool to see Apple keep the Preview app interactive and also add a good easter egg to it with the iOS 27 update. As for what's new with iOS 27, you can refer to our iOS 27 features list to know more.
