Although we are months away from the iPhone 18 series launch, a lot of rumours have been floating recently. From display changes to colour options, new information has revealed interesting details for this year's Pro models. Now, a fresh leak has revealed the exact thickness of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Apple's Chonkiest iPhone Yet?
As per reliable tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max will allegedly top the charts when it comes to thickness and heft. The leaker's Weibo post claims an 8.8mm chassis for the iPhone, a 0.05mm increase in thickness compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is 7.8mm thick.

This falls in line with a previous leak from popular tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), who claimed that the Pro Max model this year will be heavier at 240 grams. For context, the iPhone 17 Pro Max weighs 231 grams. So, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could become the thickest and heaviest iPhone yet.
While nothing can be said for certain at the time of writing, it seems like the recent iPhone 18 Pro Max battery leak report will come true afterall. With a slightly larger cell ranging between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh, the iPhone 18 Pro Max will surpass the 17 Pro Max to take the largest battery ever used in an Apple iPhone crown.
Hence, if that turns out to be true, we don't believe Apple fans will mind the additional heft of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. That said, as it is with early leaks, nothing can be substantiated. There are also reports of the Dynamic Island on iPhone 18 Pro Max getting shrunk due to Apple experimenting with under-display Face ID implementation. However, only time will reveal what's making its way via the 2026 iPhones.
