Ever since the iPhone 18 series started appearing on the rumour mill, there have been doubts about whether the iPhone 18 Pro models will continue to use Dynamic Island or not. Well, as per the latest report, it looks like Apple has decided not to give up on its Dynamic Island yet for the Pros. However, it could subtly refine it to make it more meaningful.
iPhone 18 Pro Could Get a Smaller Dynamic Island
According to the latest report from Bloomberg, the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will not get rid of the Dynamic Island feature for an under-display Face ID.
Instead, the Pro models will shrink it and make it more refined by miniaturising the Face ID components, so as not to take up as much space as it currently does on the iPhone 17 series. This falls in line with a previous leak from tipster Ice Universe, which suggested the iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island reduction.

However, last year, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max were also said to get a smaller Dynamic Island, which ultimately did not happen. However, this time around, since multiple leaks and reports and the latest Bloomberg report also reiterates a smaller Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, it could finally be happening.
There's no doubt that Apple is certainly working to introduce an iPhone that could be as clean as possible at the front, with no cutouts. However, for now, it does not seem like that will be the case, although the display immersion might be improved with a smaller Dynamic Island.
The Cupertino giant typically unveils the flagship Apple iPhones in September, so more concrete details about the iPhone 18 Pro display and design changes should surface in the coming months.
Right now, all eyes are on the iPhone 17e launch, which could happen anytime soon and likely on March 4, 2026, during the much-anticipated WWDC 2026 event.
