- The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are now expected to retain the usual centred Dynamic Island.
Recent speculation surrounding Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro has sparked confusion online, particularly around claims of a left-aligned punch-hole front camera. However, new information suggests that these rumours are the result of misinformation rather than a genuine design change.
iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island to remain untouched
As per details shared by reliable tipster Setsuna Digital, the widely circulated claim that the iPhone 18 Pro will feature a punch-hole front camera on the left side of the display is incorrect. The tipster states that early English-language reports misinterpreted information originating from Chinese and Korean media.

In reality, the left-side component references in earlier reports are said to be under-display infrared sensors. These sensors are expected to play a role in Apple's facial recognition system and are not meant to be visible cutouts in the display. The confusion appears to stem from a translation error that incorrectly labelled these sensors as a camera module.
The latest leak further adds that Apple is still expected to retain a centred Dynamic Island design on the iPhone 18 Pro. Apart from that, a previous leak also revealed the iPhone 18 series display sizes. Both the regular iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro are said to retain a 6.27-inch LTPO 120 Hz dynamic island display. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is said to keep its predecessor's 6.86-inch LTPO 120 Hz display.
Apart from that, the iPhone 18 Pro renders were leaked recently, which revealed the Burgundy, Purple and Brown colour options.

As rumours around Apple's future iPhones continue to circulate well ahead of launch, the latest episode highlights how mistranslations and second-hand reporting can quickly snowball into widespread misinformation.
So, we'd highly recommend taking it all with a pinch of salt till the brand reveals official details. The iPhone 18 series is expected to launch later this year, so expect to see a bunch of leaks surface in the coming months.
