This year is shaping up to be monumental for Apple as it plans to unveil its first foldable iPhone. The rumour mill has been buzzing with information about the upcoming phone and a new leak spills the beans on the iPhone Fold specifications.

Apple iPhone Fold Key Specifications Leaked

In a new report shared by 9to5Mac, credible Apple analyst Jeff Pu has outlined the expected specs of the iPhone Fold. In the same report, he has also shared details about the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Starting with the iPhone Fold, Pu claims that it will go official at the Apple spring event in September 2026. The smartphone is expected to bring a wider aspect ratio and feature a large 7.8-inch folding display with a sub-5.3-inch outer panel.

Further, the processor of choice is said to be the Apple A20 Pro, paired with the custom-built N2 network chip, C2 5G modem and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Moreover, the analyst claims that it will bring a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 48 MP main camera and a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone will miss out on the 48 MP telephoto camera, which the iPhone 18 Pro series is said to offer. Aside from that, Pu's report also confirms initial speculations about the iPhone Fold ditching Face ID for Touch ID.

Material-wise, Apple is said to pay special attention to the iPhone Fold's durability. The phone will use a combination of a Titanium mid-frame and a custom-made aluminium hinge. Early leaks point to Liquid Metal parts and a custom internal metal plate for the folding phone's durability. This is also said to make the crease-free iPhone Fold display possible.

iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max could be powered by A20 Pro SoC

As for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, they are not massively different from the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Pu mentions the same 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes for both phones. However, a recent iPhone 18 series display leak hints at a marginally smaller 6.27-inch and 6.87-inch panels.

Both will make use of the same A20 Pro chipset and will also get treated to the Apple N2 and C2 custom-made silicon. However, unlike the iPhone Fold, both 18 series phones will use an aluminium unibody chassis and will bring an additional 48 MP telephoto camera to the mix.

That said, these are early leaks and while most of them turn out to be true eventually, it is best to take them with a pinch of salt. Since Apple unveils new iPhones by the end of Q4, expect more concrete details around that time.
