The iPhone Fold is set to release this September, according to industry rumours, and now we have our first look at the dummy units of Apple's first foldable iPhone, as well as the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max models. This gives us a very clear idea of how these devices will translate into real life.
iPhone Fold Design Looks Wider than Expected
Reliable tipster Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) shared the first look at the dummies of the iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max in his X post. While the dummy phones look incomplete, they still give a clear idea of what the final design will look like upon release.

Starting with the iPhone Fold, it features a wide frame, as previously rumoured. One side of the phone is also squared off, similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The dummies feature two cameras at the back; however, the camera island does not extend the full length of the back like the iPhone Air.
The image also shows that the volume buttons are placed on the top, similar to an iPad, as previous design leaks suggested. The power button is nowhere to be seen, but it will most likely be at the side and feature the return of Touch ID.
Some users also spotted a visible lack of a MagSafe ring at the back of the iPhone Fold dummy. Does this mean the iPhone Fold will skip MagSafe like the iPhone 16e? It is quite unlikely that Apple will make such a bold move on its reportedly most expensive iPhone yet. We can't confirm this till more details come out.
iPhone 18 Pro Appears Identical to the Current Pro Models
Coming to the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max dummies, which look like carbon copies of the current iPhone 17 Pro devices. Both dummies in the image boast the same design and placement of the camera, flash, and the MagSafe ring. However, the camera lenses do seem bigger, suggesting an upgrade in that department. But that is just speculation from our end.
The iPhone Fold is rumoured to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max during Apple's September event. However, another new supply chain leak suggests that the iPhone Fold release date could be pushed back to 2027 due to major engineering setbacks.
