Apple's complete iPhone roadmap through 2028 has leaked, all thanks to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The report has come up just before the company's September 9 event and it details the mechanical aperture camera on the iPhone 18 Pro, a foldable iPhone Ultra, a 20th-anniversary iPhone redesign and a larger foldable.
iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max: Mechanical Aperture Camera Leads the Upgrades
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are going to be released next week. Gurman reports a new "mechanical aperture" camera feature, which is also referred to as variable aperture, is coming to the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the smaller iPhone 18 Pro too.
According to the report, the feature will allow users to fine-tune light and control depth in their shots. Both phones are also tipped to get better battery life and improved vapour chambers to keep thermals in check. The iPhone 17 Pro brought Apple's first vapour chamber last year, so this year, we will see a second-generation cooling setup.
The A20 Pro chip is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in dark red and light blue colours. Gurman also says Apple's in-house C2 modems are coming to both Pro models. However, in the US, Apple might go with Qualcomm's 5G modem for mmWave support.

iPhone Ultra: Apple's First Foldable Arrives Next Week
Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Ultra, is also set for the September 9 event. The report describes it as "about the size of a passport when folded" just like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The foldable will reportedly come in light and dark colours and feature Touch ID and an "advanced hinge". Gurman says it will cost over $2,000 (~Rs 1,88,927), which would make it Apple's most expensive iPhone yet. You can read the full spec in our iPhone Ultra guide.

2027: The Biggest Pro Redesign Since iPhone X
Next year things are about to get interesting. Gurman reports the 2027 iPhone Pro and Pro Max will get a 20th-anniversary design with "curved glass around all corners and edges, with thinner bezels".
He calls it "the biggest overhaul to what is now the iPhone Pro line since the iPhone X". For context, the iPhone X was launched in 2017 and it ditched the Touch ID button for Face ID. The 20th-anniversary iPhone would take that idea further by curving the glass over the frame for a seamless and all-glass finish.
A second-generation foldable is also planned for 2027 and is said to be "already well into testing" with a new chip.

Gurman says a third-generation Apple foldable is in development for 2028 with "a slightly larger display on the front and inside" than the 2026 and 2027 models. He did not share details on other 2028 devices.

The Rest of the Lineup
The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are slated to launch in 2027 during springtime (March to May). And the iPhone Air 2 is expected to bring three upgrades including an ultra-wide camera, a faster chip and longer battery life.
Note that most of these leaked details are not confirmed by Apple. So I would suggest waiting till the September 9 event to see what turns out to be true.
