Krafton India has finally announced the launch date of BGMI Air, its upcoming lightweight version of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
BGMI Air Launching in India in December
The game will officially launch in India on December 10, 2026, following an impressive response from mobile gamers, with over 14 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store.
Before the official launch, the company will host a closed beta programme between November 20 and November 24 across Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. Selected participants will get early access to the game and can share their feedback with the developers to help improve the experience before its wider rollout.

Players interested in participating in the closed beta will have to post a video explaining why they should be among the first to try BGMI Air. They must tag the game's official Instagram handle and submit an application through the form available in the bio of the official BGMI Air and BGMI Instagram accounts.
Krafton will then select participants from the applications submitted for the programme.

As the name suggests, BGMI Air is designed to offer a lighter version of the existing BGMI experience. It is mainly for players with entry-level smartphones or limited device storage who may struggle to run the full-fledged game.
The upcoming game will have an initial download size of approximately 1 GB, while retaining the core gameplay experience of the original BGMI.

Existing BGMI players will not have to transfer their accounts to access the lighter version. However, Krafton is yet to reveal additional details about the game's features, supported devices and system requirements.
The developer has also promised to share more information about BGMI Air, including pre-launch rewards, through its official social media channels ahead of the December 10 release.
