Oppo has officially kicked off recruitment for the ColorOS 17 Closed Beta testing in India for the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Reno 15 Pro series. Interestingly, the OnePlus 15 is also part of the rollout.
Talking about the Oppo phones first, the Android 17-based update will first be tested out with the Oppo Find X9 Pro, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Mini. Registration is open only between August 6 and August 7, 2026, with the company limiting the program to 300 testers per device.
Eligible users must already be running the following ColorOS 16 versions:
- Oppo Find X9 Pro: CPH2791_16.0.9.400(EX01)
- Oppo Reno 15 Pro / Reno 15 Pro Mini: CPH2813_16.0.8.300(EX01) or CPH2813_16.0.9.400(EX01)
The Find X9 Pro beta is available in India, Indonesia and Malaysia, while the Oppo Reno 15 Pro and Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini are limited to India and Malaysia.
Selected users must sign a handwritten Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), while the beta build itself carries an on-screen watermark to discourage screenshots and leaks. Testers are also prohibited from publicly sharing any information related to the software.
Participants will additionally be invited to a dedicated Telegram group for submitting feedback and bug reports.
Oppo warns that the beta may introduce temporary heating, battery drain, performance issues and third-party app compatibility problems. The brand also notes that User/Experience User/Experience Improvement Program and Auto Update Overnight will automatically be enabled during the beta period.
OnePlus 15 Also Joins the ColorOS 17 Closed Beta Registration
OnePlus 15 users have also started seeing the ColorOS 17 Closed Beta registrations go live in the Settings panel. This makes it the first OnePlus phone to enter the new software update, since the brand officially announced its transition from OxygenOS to ColorOS 17 last month.
Like Oppo's beta, the OnePlus 15 ColorOS 17 update is aimed at a limited number of experienced testers and carries the usual warnings about software instability. Expect more ColorOS 17 eligible OnePlus phones to follow soon.
Users can apply for the ColorOS 17 Closed Beta on these Oppo and OnePlus phones by heading over to Settings -> About device -> Tap the top banner -> Three-dot menu -> Beta Program -> Apply Now.
