OnePlus has announced that OxygenOS is officially going away and eligible OnePlus devices will transition to Oppo's ColorOS. The announcement came via a community post on July 16. While OnePlus is yet to publish an official device list, the eligible phones follow the Android 17 update roadmap based on the existing software policy. So if you are wondering whether your OnePlus phone will get ColorOS 17, here is the full list of eligible devices.
ColorOS 17 Eligible OnePlus phones
The OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus 15R are expected to be the first devices to make the jump to ColorOS 17. After that, the OnePlus 13 series, OnePlus 12 series and the OnePlus 11, all of which fall within the 4-year major update window OnePlus promised starting with the OnePlus 11. Here are the expected OnePlus phones eligible for ColorOS 17.

Note that the OnePlus Open also makes the cut for ColorOS 17 as the foldable was promised four major Android updates and received OxygenOS 16 as its third. However, this is likely to be the last major update for the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Open.

The newer Nord phones are also expected to receive the ColorOS 17 update. The Nord CE 6, Nord CE 6 Lite and Nord 6 ship with OxygenOS 16 out of the box, so ColorOS 17 will be their first major update. And the Nord 5, Nord CE 5 and Nord 4 are covered under the 4-year update promise.

OnePlus Devices That Will Not Get ColorOS 17
If your device is not on the list above, it's not expected to receive ColorOS 17. That includes the OnePlus 11R, the entire OnePlus 10, 9, 8 and 7 series, Nord 3, Nord CE 4 and Nord CE 4 Lite. These devices have already exhausted or will exhaust their major update cycles with OxygenOS 16.
That said, OnePlus has confirmed that devices outside the eligible list will not be abandoned. They will continue to receive bug fixes and security patches on their current OxygenOS build.

OnePlus says the move will let it deliver Android updates faster, since a single software platform means OnePlus' and Oppo's engineers are no longer maintaining two versions of the same OS.
OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau merged the OxygenOS and ColorOS codebase back in 2021 and the two skins have shared the same foundation since then. In fact, Chinese OnePlus models made the full switch to ColorOS years ago, so the global lineup is simply catching up now..

Of course, the latest development has fuelled speculation about the brand's future in India, especially after a report said OnePlus is planning to exit India by 2027. As for the timeline, OnePlus has not shared a rollout roadmap yet. Going by previous cycles, the stable Android 17 update was expected to arrive on the OnePlus 15 series around November 2026, so ColorOS 17 should follow a similar schedule.
