Samsung launched the Galaxy Fit 3 fitness tracker back in 2024. Now, after two years, it looks like the successor, Galaxy Fit 4, is in the works. The first look of the upcoming fitness tracker has emerged online along with some key details.
Folks over at Android Authority managed to obtain documentation and a render of the alleged Samsung Galaxy Fit 4. The fitness tracker has emerged under the SM-R391 model number, a designation allegedly labelled "FIT4" in Samsung's own internal documents.
Based on the above image, the back blueprint of the Galaxy Fit 4 seems to look almost identical to the Galaxy Fit 3. We can see the same elongated band form factor as the predecessor and the same general sensor placement at the back.
Moreover, the SM-R391 model number etched at the back is a clear indication that we are looking at the Galaxy Fit 4 since the Galaxy Fit 3 features the SM-R390 SKU.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 Expected Specifications
Moving on, on the hardware side, the report states that the Galaxy Fit 4 could feature the Goodix GH3036 sensor module. It is an integrated smart sensor which is designed for low-powered wearable devices to monitor heart rate as well as PPG-based tracking.
Obviously, the sensor is not as powerful as the one found inside the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. However, it is a sensible choice since Samsung has always opted for a slim, always-on health band-focused offering with the "Galaxy Fit" lineup.
Aside from that, the Galaxy Fit 4 will allegedly feature Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), making it an add-on accessory for compatible Galaxy phones. However, it is unclear if the Galaxy Band 4 will offer GPS and NFC functionalities.
That said, since this is the first time we are hearing about the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4, more details are awaited. For now, take the current development with a pinch of salt.
