Google' Gemini has changed a lot since its inception back in 2023. To make it easier for users to stay in the loop of the fast-evolving AI assistant, Google has officially kicked off "Gemini Drops".
Google Gemini Drops are a monthly update series aimed at highlighting the latest features, improvements as well as tips for making the most of Gemini. July 2025 is the very first edition of these drops.
A new dedicated Gemini Drops landing page is now live, which will let users in on all the highlights. "Gemini is constantly evolving, but Gemini Drops makes it easier to keep up with what’s being released," Google writes. Google also urges Gemini users to check this page "regularly to find feature announcements, product tips, and see how our community is using Gemini to create, research, and do more."

So, what's new in the July 2025 drop? Here's a quick rundown of it all:
- Veo 3 Photo to Video: With the new update to Veo 3, Gemini users can now turn still images to videos via a text prompt.
- Expanded Veo 3 access: Subscribers of Google AI Pro and AI Pro Plus plans in over 150 countries can use Veo 3.
- Scheduled Actions: These are smart reminders that lets Gemini users ask the AI to set something for a later date. For example: "send this email tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM", "Play music at 6:00 PM," etc.
- Productivity Planner Gem: To further boost productivity, users of the Gemini app can use the new Productivity Planner gem to streamline their work by bringing their emails, calendar and everything else in one place.
- Gemini 2.5 Pro update: Gemini's 2.5 Pro AI model is now "better at coding, science, reasoning and multimodal benchmarks."
- Gemini on Wear OS: Gemini is finally available for users on Wear OS smartwatches. The feature was first introduced and rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series.
- Gemini Live Captions: Users in a loud environment or with hearing impairment can now read alongside having a conversation with Gemini, all in real-time.
- Gemini Live getting app integration: Gemini Live can now integrate with other Google apps like Calendar, Maps and Keep.
It's good to see Google not silently scattering updates to its Gemini but has decided on keeping it all transparent through these Gemini Drops. Moreover, these monthly updates will serve as quite the AI digest, educating more and more users of Gemini and its growing capabilities.
