Back in January 2026, when the Gemini-powered Siri overhaul was announced, everyone was excited to see a glimpse of the new agentic Siri in the coming months. However, so far, there has been no trace of the AI or Siri in iOS. With no official announcement from Apple yet, Google Cloud chief has reassured everyone that the brand-new Siri will arrive in 2026 itself.
Gemini-Powered Siri Will Arrive Later This Year
At the Google Cloud 2026 keynote in Las Vegan, Nevada, Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud chief confirmed that Apple will release the new version of Siri in the later part of 2026. He confirmed that the Foundation Model of Siri will be based on Gemini's LLMs and will be hosted at Google Cloud.

However, even when Kurian confirmed the new Siri for end of 2026, even he was unable to share a concrete deadline for release. Multiple reports say that Apple will release its newest Siri avatar with the upcoming iOS 27 release at WWDC 2026.
The Cupertino brand has already faced major delay and hurdles since Apple Intelligence's announcement in 2024. So, after two years of frantic waiting, there is still no official word from Apple regarding Siri and its AI capabilities.

That said, it does look like Apple has big plans for the rebirth of Siri. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has extensively reported that Siri in iOS 27 will not only live as an agentic chatbot but will also act like Gemini and Perplexity via a dedicated Siri app. Siri is expected to bring an AI marketplace where users will be able to add LLMs from vendors like Anthropic, DeepSeek and more. Even more impressive will be the fact that Siri with its multi-modal capabilities will finally start understanding context-aware queries and perform multi-step processes without repeated interruptions.
All in all, based on the current expected timeline, Gemini-powered Siri will be announced in June 2026 and will go official in September 2026, alongside the iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
