The Google Pixel 10 series is expected to be revealed later this year. It could bring a few upgrades over the previous generation, and one of them could revolve around its under-display fingerprint scanner.
According to Android Headlines, Google could use an improved under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on Pixel 10 which will be faster and more reliable than on the Pixel 9. For context, the Pixel 9 series was the first to introduce ultrasonic fingerprint sensors to Google's lineup, which was an upgrade over the optical sensors on older Pixels.

Another report from the same source suggests the Pixel 10 series could also boast tele-macro camera capabilities to achieve sharper closeup shots. Google has been using the ultrawide snapper for macro shots for a long time, but with this reported change, users can take advantage of the telephoto sensor to get closer to the subject. The cameras are also expected to have “gimbal-like” stabilization. Here's an overview of the rumoured camera specifications of all Pixel 10 devices.
Variant | Rear camera specifications |
Pixel 10 | 50 MP wide angle Samsung GN8 1/1.95"
13 MP ultrawide Sony IMX712 1/3.1"
11 MP telephoto Samsung 3J1 1/1.3" |
Pixel 10 Pro / 10 Pro XL / 10 Pro Fold | 50 MP wide Samsung GNV 1/1.31"
48 MP ultrawide Sony IMX858 1/2.55"
48 MP periscope Sony IMX858 1/2.55" |
The Pixel 10 series is expected to arrive with the first TSMC-manufactured Tensor chipset – the Tensor G5. It's expected to come with better speakers than Pixel 9, could support Pixel snap accessories with Qi2 charging, and may come in a new set of colours. We don't expect many changes in the Pixel 10 series, design-wise.
Google could stick to launching four devices until at least 2027 as recently leaked Pixel 12 series codenames suggested the same. The Pixel 10 series is rumoured to launch on August 20, 2025 and will come with Android 16 out-of-the-box.
There are no reports about the pricing yet, but considering the previous Pixel launches, we expect the Pixel 10 series to cost the same as Pixel 9 series. There were rumours about Pixel 10 Pro Fold getting a hefty price cut, but there's no basis to prove the same.
