Google has given the two-year-old Pixel Buds Pro 2 a fresh update alongside the Pixel 11 launch at its Made by Google event on August 12, 2026. The earbuds get a new colour option, as well as improved noise cancellation, sleep tracking and a deeper Gemini integration.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 Get New Olive Colour and Smarter Features
The highlight here is the addition of a new Olive colourway, designed to match the new Pixel 11 series. This green colourway sits beside the older Porcelain, Peony and Hazel colourways of the earbuds.

In terms of software, the more notable addition is Dynamic ANC, which allows the Pixel Buds Pro 2 to automatically compensate for subtle changes in how the earbuds sit in your ears. This helps maintain consistent active noise cancellation even when the seal changes slightly during use.
Google is also making the earbuds more useful with Gemini. Users can now ask Gemini to adjust audio settings using voice commands, such as changing the bass level, without manually opening the Pixel Buds settings.

Another notable addition is what Google calls a Pixel Watch sleep sync feature. When a connected Pixel Watch detects that you've fallen asleep, it can automatically pause music, disable touch controls and silence notifications on the Pixel Buds Pro 2. This is designed to prevent accidental taps or notifications from disturbing your sleep.
Google is also tying the earbuds more closely into its wider Pixel ecosystem. For example, Pixel Buds Pro 2 users will be able to ask Gemini to help locate or ring a misplaced Pixel Tag without needing to take out their phone.
