Following last month's major QPR1 release, Google is seeding the October 2026 security patch to its Pixel portfolio. The update is hitting a wide roster of devices dating back to the Pixel 6, addressing a host of vulnerabilities and standard Android 17 security flaws.
Google is rolling out an update to nearly every Tensor-powered Pixel it has ever released, starting with the Pixel 6 through the Pixel 11. It carries build numbers CP3A.261005.002.A, CP3A.261005.005, CD1A.261005.003 and CD1A.261005.003.B1.

Google says the firmware applies fixes for 34 vulnerabilities and 28 standard Android 17 security flaws, alongside six patches tailored for Google's own hardware. Additionally, it issues fixes for the Virtual keyboard failing to appear in search input fields on all Pixel phones.
The update also fixes a bug causing Audio distortion and noise during VoIP calls, and a Pixel 11-specific Camera bug that saved photos and videos in the wrong direction.
That said, despite receiving the October 2026 update, the lack of QPR1 features for the Pixel 11 series is visibly brewing community frustration. Users are now suspecting that Google may skip Android 17 QPR1 entirely for the Pixel 11 series.
In other news, the October 2026 security patch could be the Pixel 6 series' last update. Google did not redeem these phones for QPR2 Beta, slated to release in December 2026, since they've passed their October 2026 update promise threshold.
Google recently added the Pixel 11 series to Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6, so we should soon hear more about the QPR1 stable's release timeline as well. Until then, stay tuned.
