Google has been testing Android 17 QPR2 for a while now. Last week, the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 update was released for all Android 17 eligible Pixel phones. Now Google has shipped a new Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 build, bringing the latest Pixel 11 lineup into the beta rollout program.
Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 Update: What's New?
The biggest change in the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 update is device support. Google has added the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold to the Android 17 beta program.
The latest Pixels have the CP41.260831.011 build number for the latest update. As for other Android 17 eligible Pixel devices, they bear the CP41.260831.007.A3 update identifier. The update comes with the August 2026 security patch and Google Play Services version 26.28.33.
Google hasn't shared a proper changelog for Beta 6.1 and the update itself is incremental. Its main purpose is to bring the Pixel 11 series in line with other Pixel phones. Aside from Pixel 11 support, Beta 6.1 adds a new feature to HiLight on the Pixel 11 Pro models.
It includes an option called "Messacges from favourites". As the name suggests, the intent of this is to make the HiLight glow when contacts marked as favourites send a message.
For those unaware, the Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL have a feature called HiLight, which is an RGB LED strip built into the camera bar that lights up for calls and notifications.
Aside from that, the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 update also adds a small visual tweak, which now allows the battery icon in the status bar to show a thin outline around it when the phone is charging.
Rest, Google has listed one known issue with this update. Pixel 11 Pro Fold users may have to re-enrol Face Unlock after installing Beta 6.1. It's a minor hassle, but important to note if you rely on Face Unlock every day.
That said, all eligible Android 17 Pixel owners can head over to Settings -> System -> Software updates to get the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 update.
