Summary

  • Honor 500 Pro has now surfaced on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
  • It has managed to score 3,100 points in single-core and 9,463 points in multi-core tests.
  • Expected specs include a 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display, 8,000mAh battery and triple rear cameras.

Honor has already confirmed that it is going to make the 500 series smartphones official in China soon. However, we still await a launch date confirmation from the brand. Now, ahead of that, the Honor 500 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench, running a Qualcomm processor.

Honor 500 Pro gets the 2024 "Elite" treatment

Spotted by tech publication Gizmochina, the Geekbench listing of the Honor 500 Pro is now live on the benchmarking website with the Honor MEP-AN00 SKU. The upcoming smartphone from Honor has managed to rack up 3,100 points in the single-core test, while the multi-score result reveals 9,463 points. It also reveals the presence of 16 GB RAM and Android 16, most likely MagicOS 10.

As for the processor, the listing mentions an octa-core chipset with 2 cores clocked at 4.32 GHz and 6 cores clocked at 3.53 GHz. Given how familiar the CPU architecture is, there is no doubt that the SoC used here is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with the Adreno 830 GPU.

This makes sense since the Honor 400 Pro shipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from 2023. So, it is obvious that the next model will get the next-gen Qualcomm flagship chip, the 8 Elite from 2024. Also, the recent Honor 500 Geekbench scores leak revealed the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. So, this time around, expect to see an all-around flagship performance from both phones.

That said, the Honor 500 series China launch teaser went up recently with an iPhone Air-like design for both phones and Aquamarine, Starlight Pink, Obsidian Black and Moonlight Silver colour options. Both phones are confirmed to bring a vertical edge-to-edge pill-shaped camera bar to the table with the Pro sporting a triple rear camera setup.

Aside from that, the Honor 500 Pro is also expected to sport a new AI button on the right side of the smartphone and feature a cold-carved finish for the back panel. Other than that, leaks indicate a 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display, over 8,000mAh battery, 80W fast charging support, MagicOS 10 and more. That said, all these details and the official launch date are yet to arrive. So stay tuned for that.
