Honor introduced the Magic 8 series smartphones in China a short while back. The lineup included the Magic 8 and the Magic 8 Pro smartphones. Now, looks like the brand is already working on the next "Magic 8" series device, the Magic 8 Ultra.
Honor Magic 8 Ultra with "Elite" upgrades incoming
As per tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), the upcoming Honor Magic 8 Pro will draw its power from the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The smartphone will even feature a 6.71-inch 1.5K quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display just like the Honor Magic 8 Pro.

DCS also claims that the panel will house an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath. On the camera front, the Magic 8 Ultra is expected to feature bring a significant boost with a new 50 MP OmniVision OV50R main camera sensor, expected to enter mass production by early 2026. It is said to offer a higher dynamic range and lossless aperture shift.
Moreover, a previous leak also mentioned that Honor will pair this new main camera sensor with a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with variable aperture from 4.3x to 7x optical zoom. Other than that, DCS claims that the smartphone will ship with an above 7,000mAh battery capacity just like the Honor Magic 8 series in China.

As for the other details, the Magic 8 Pro is also expected to ship with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. Apart from that, expect to see 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support with the next Ultra phone from Honor.
That said, the Honor Magic 8 Ultra is expected to go official by the first half of 2026. Since the Magic 7 series didn't include an "Ultra" variant this year, it will be interesting to see how the Magic 8 Ultra will top the Magic 8 Pro next year.
