Alongside the Honor Magic 9 and Magic 9 Super Edition China launch, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max has also debuted as the top-of-the-line phone in the lineup. Honor has gone all-out with it, making it the second phone in the world to feature the latest 2nm flagship Snapdragon chipset.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max Specifications and Features
Starting with the design, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max looks quite different from a typical flagship phone. The biggest change is on the back, which uses a two-tone, L-shaped layout. The camera module sits in the top-left corner as a large raised plateau in the same colour as the frame and carries ARRI branding.
For those unaware, ARRI is a German imaging company known for its cinema cameras and has co-created the Honor Robot Phone. The rest of the phone has a dual-tone look similar to the iPhone 18 Pro and features a unibody aluminium design and a glass section at the back.
At the front, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max gets a 6.8-inch 1.5K flat LTPO OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 4,320 Hz PWM dimming. The display houses an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster unlock and supports facial recognition.
Powering the phone is the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, making the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max the second phone in the world to ship with the 2nm SoC, after the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Software-wise, the smartphone comes with the latest MagicOS 11 update based on Android 17.
In terms of cameras, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max brings a 200 MP main sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size. It is paired with a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.14-inch sensor size.
All three cameras are backed by ARRI Imaging Science and also bring ARRI teleconverter kit support with 200mm 2.35x Honor Thumb Teleconverter lens and a 500mm 5.88x Honor Mega Cannon Teleconverter camera.
Another area where the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max shines is in the selfie camera. The Honor Magic 9 lineup becomes the first Android phones to feature a square 1:1 sensor, just like the iPhone 17.
This allows the Honor Magic 9 Pro and the Magic 9 Pro Max to shoot both wide and ultra-wide selfies without tilting the phone. The sensor is fitted with a 55 MP selfie camera.
In terms of battery and charging, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max is fitted with an 8,800mAh cell with 100W fast charging and 80W wireless charging support.
The rest of the phone gets IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ratings, an X-axis linear motor, dual 1216 stereo speakers, an AI button, a dedicated shutter button, dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port.

The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max starts in China at 6,499 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs 93,000) for the 12 GB + 256 GB base variant. The phone comes in all the way up to a 16 GB + 1 TB variant, which costs 8,499 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs 1,22,000).
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max will be sold officially via the Honor China website in Moss Green, Shadow Black and Silver Salt colour options.
