Google I/O 2026 is finally here and it's turning out to be one of the biggest developer events in years. The Android Show: 2026 revealed most of the Android 17 features a week ago, now the main keynote is expected to go all-in on AI, Gemini and AI-powered XR glasses. So, here is how to watch Google I/O 2026 live in India, the scheduler and everything Google is likely to announce.
Google I/O 2026 Date and Time in India?
Google I/O 2026 is scheduled for May 19 and May 20 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The main Google keynote kicks off on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT (or 10:30 PM IST). It will be a late-night watch for Indian viewers. The developer keynote follows the same day at 1:30 PM PT, which is 2:00 AM IST on May 20, which is more technical and aimed at app developers.
How to Watch the Google I/O 2026 Livestream in India
Google will livestream the I/O 2026 keynote on its official YouTube channel and the io.google (visit) website. There is no registration required to watch online and since it streams on YouTube, you can watch it from any device.
You can also hit the "Notify me" or Remind me option on YouTube, which adds the keynote to your Google Calendar and pings you before it goes live. Note that Google will also upload recordings of every session once the livestream wraps up. You can also rewatch specific announcements later if you miss the keynote.
What to Expect from Google I/O 2026
The most anticipated release is going to be the next Gemini release. Google is expected to unveil a major new version of its flagship AI model. It could be Gemini 4 or another Gemini 3 incremental release. Since Gemini now powers nearly every Google product, this single announcement will have impact across all its products.
Apart from that, multiple leaks suggest that we might see Google's strong push for AI agents. There are leaks about Google's next Sparks AI agent (Remy?), a new video generation model called Omni, a Gemini desktop agent for macOS, a cheaper Gemini AI Ultra Lite plan, Gemini app redesign and more.

Besides that, Google has officially confirmed that it will preview Android XR glasses at I/O 2026. After teasing the platform last year, we are finally expecting a more production-ready look. We could see Android XR glasses from multiple partners including Samsung, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.
There is also strong anticipation around Aluminium OS, the Android-powered desktop OS that powers the new Googlebook laptops Google unveiled at The Android Show: 2026.
Note that most of the Android 17 features including Gemini Intelligence, 3D emoji, Android Auto upgrades, Screen Reaction, Pause Point, etc. have already landed at The Android Show. So the main keynote should focus on AI, Gemini, Search and hardware.
