The Huawei Nova 16 series launched in China back in June 2026 and now the brand is adding another member to the family - Huawei Nova 16 SE. This marks the return of Huawei's "Nova SE" lineup, which has remained dormant since the Nova 12 SE debuted in 2024.
As per the official Huawei VMall website, the Huawei Nova 16 SE will launch in China on August 5, 2026, at 12:08 PM CST (or 9:38 AM IST). The smartphone has been showcased with an iPhone 17 Pro-like design, featuring an extended camera island and an inverted triangle camera placement.
The design also resembles the more recent Honor Power 2 smartphone and this was revealed by Digital Chat Station in a previous Huawei Nova 16 SE design and specs leak.

Speaking of the Huawei Nova 16 SE specifications, the website has also confirmed that it will feature a 6.84-inch AMOLED display with super-thin and uniform bezels and rock 8,000 nits of peak brightness.

Powering the phone will be the Kirin 8020 chipset, which also powers last year's Huawei Nova 15. For the battery, the Huawei Nova 16 SE will feature an 8,500mAh cell capacity, paired with 66W fast charging.
In terms of cameras, the phone will feature a 50 MP main rear camera with Red Maple Imaging tech. Also, just like the other Nova 16 series smartphones, the Nova 16 SE will bring Beidou Satellite connectivity support along with 5G.
The phone will be available in a 256 GB storage option and the Cherry Blossom Snow Sky colour option. That said, the Huawei Nova 16 SE is up for pre-order for folks in China via the Huawei VMall website. The brand will also introduce the Huawei MatePad Pro tablet at the same event, but has not shared any of its details.
