The Huawei Nova 16 series launched in China back in June 2026 and now it looks like the brand is planning to add a Huawei Nova 16 SE to the lineup. If true, the phone would also mark the return of Huawei's "Nova SE" lineup, which has remained dormant since the Nova 12 SE debuted in 2024.
The information comes via leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, who suggests that the upcoming phone will borrow design cues from the Honor Power 2. For those unaware, the Honor Power 2 launched in China back in January this year.

Another tipster going by Lao Sun Talks Technology took to Weibo to share a live image of the upcoming Honor phone in a blue colourway, further corroborating DCS's claims. It indeed does look like the Honor Power 2. However, specs will not remain the same, from the looks of it.

DCS suggests that the Huawei Nova 16 SE will reportedly pack an 8,500mAh battery instead of the Power 2's monstrous 10,080mAh capacity.
Apart from that, the phone is said to sport a 1.5K LTPS OLED display. This aligns with the display specification of the rest of the Nova 16 lineup, as all the existing phones offer a 1.5K OLED panel, including the Huawei Nova 16z.
Under the hood, the phone could be powered by the Kirin 8020 chipset, the same as Huawei Nova 15 and the Nova 16z. Moving on, the camera setup on the Nova 16 SE is tipped to include a 50 MP main camera with Red Maple Imaging.
The phone is also rumoured to be priced between 2,000 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 28,500) and 3,000 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 43,000).
That said, Huawei has not officially confirmed the Nova 16 SE. We also don't know when the smartphone will launch exactly. However, more concrete details should emerge in the coming days. So, stay tuned.
