The phone is currently up for pre-registration via the Vivo China e-store, and iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO 16 sale will begin immediately after launch. This will make this the first iQOO phone to launch with the OriginOS 7 update.

Alongside the launch date, iQOO has also revealed three colour options for the iQOO 16: Chasing Light, Legend and Racing Track. Amongst the three, Chasing Light is the standout colourway, as it brings a laser holographic etching design to the back panel, which can produce shifting red and blue light effects as the viewing angle changes.

The camera design of the iQOO 16 is called "Tomorrow's Porthole", bringing a futuristic look to the triple camera setup. This has been earlier described as the "Square Deco + UFO" layout.

Aside from that, those who pre-register the iQOO 16 will be eligible for benefits worth 1,000 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 14,500). This will include a complimentary iQOO 16 case, Vivo A5 TWS, a one-year extended warranty and three years of battery coverage.

iQOO 16 Will Become First Phone to Feature Samsung M16 OLED

Aside from the launch date and the colourways, iQOO previously confirmed that the iQOO 16 will be the first Android phone to use Samsung's M16 OLED luminescent material. The smartphone will be able to achieve a manual peak brightness of 1,100 nits, a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a local peak brightness of a whopping 10,000 nits.

Moreover, iQOO and Samsung Display have worked together to bring a 2K 165 Hz display for the iQOO 16, built on top of the M16 luminous material. The panel uses Samsung's new 2K LEAD 2.0 technology, bringing high resolution and a high refresh rate with considerably low operating power.

That said, the iQOO 16 launch date is set for after the Snapdragon Summit event, since the phone is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. So, stay tuned.
