iQOO has officially confirmed that its Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro smartphones will receive the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update. This marks a rather unexpected extension of software support beyond the brand's original promise.
iQOO Neo 7 series will get OriginOS 6 in 2026
To everyone's surprise, the iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro have now been confirmed to be a part of the OriginOS 6 eligible devices list. Originally launched in 2023 with Android 13 out of the box, both phones were guaranteed two major OS updates and three years of security patches. So, Android 15 should technically have been the last update for these phones.
However, iQOO's latest announcement pushes the update cycle further, giving the Neo 7 series a third major Android update. The update based on Android 16 will be arriving on the phones sometime in early to mid-2026.

Now, for those unaware, OriginOS 6 features include an all-new liquid-glass inspired design, improved animations, performance optimisations and more with the brand's proprietary "Ultra-Core Computing" architecture.
While the exact rollout timelines of OriginOS 6 for the iQOO Neo 7 series remain unclear, expect the brand to specify it soon. For a mid-range nearing its third year in the market, the upcoming OriginOS 6 rollout stands out as a much-welcome surprise. It's also proof that iQOO is taking longevity and user feedback more seriously than ever.
