  • The recharges offer unlimited calling, SMS benefits and validity of up to 336 days.
  • Jio joins Airtel and Vi in offering dedicated voice-only plans following TRAI's mandate.

Reliance Jio has introduced a new range of voice-only prepaid recharge plans in India, allowing customers to stay connected without paying for bundled mobile data.

The new recharges start at Rs 147 and offer unlimited voice calling and SMS benefits, with validity ranging from 22 days to 336 days. This comes after TRAI mandated voice-only prepaid plans last month.

Jio Voice-Only Prepaid Plans in India: Price and Benefits

Jio's new voice-only prepaid portfolio includes four shorter-validity recharge plans and two longer-validity options. Here's a breakdown of all six plans:

Jio Voice-Only Plan PriceValiditySMS benefits
Rs 14722 days300 SMS
Rs 17728 days300 SMS
Rs 19630 days300 SMS
Rs 197Calendar month300 SMS
Rs 44884 days1,000 SMS
Rs 1,748336 days3,600 SMS

All six plans offer unlimited domestic voice calling and do not include any mobile data benefits. The Rs 448 and Rs 1,748 recharges also bundle access to Jio TV and JioAICloud.

The four shorter-validity plans are the latest additions to Jio's portfolio. Meanwhile, we checked and found that the Rs 448 and Rs 1,748 options have been available since 2025. They have just been added now alongside the new recharges under a dedicated 'TRAI Mandated Packs' section on the official Jio website.

Interestingly, the Rs 177 recharge plan offers 28 days of validity and costs Rs 12 less than Jio's Rs 189 Value plan, which offers the same validity alongside 2 GB of mobile data.

Similarly, the Rs 147 Jio plan costs Rs 92 less than Jio's Rs 239 plan, which offers 22 days of validity, 1.5 GB of daily data and 100 SMS per day.

Either way, it's still good to get voice-only recharge plans and not let all that unused data go to waste. These voice-only plans are particularly useful for senior citizens, feature phone users and people who primarily use their SIM cards for calling and messaging.

They can also benefit those who rely on Wi-Fi for internet access or maintain a secondary SIM for receiving calls and OTPs.

Following the TRAI mandate, Airtel introduced voice-only recharge plans first. Vi voice-only plans followed suit recently as well. With Jio now joining the list, subscribers of all three major telecom operators have a few more affordable options to choose from.
