Lava’s Virat lineup is getting a significant upgrade with a new Lava Virat Curve launch in India next week. Unlike the earlier Virat phones, the upcoming phone features a curved AMOLED display and a capable Dimensity chipset, making it the most capable and likely the most expensive phone in the series yet.
Lava Virat Curve Launch Date in India Confirmed
A dedicated Flipkart microsite has gone live, which reveals that the Lava Virat Curve will launch in India on September 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST. This also confirms the phone's availability on the e-commerce platform.
We also get a good look at the phone's back design in Heritage Indigo (blue) and Makrana Ivory (silver) colourways. It will mostly follow the design statement of the Lava Virat V1 Pro, from the looks of it.
However, this time around, the brand has also thrown in a rear mini display that displays notifications, time, custom messages and emojis, as well as acts as volume and battery percentage indicators. This brings the Virat Curve closer to other Lava phones with rear displays, such as the Lava Agni 4.

Lava Virat Curve Specifications Revealed
The highlight of the Lava Virat Curve is its 6.67 3D Curved AMOLED display, which is where it gets its name. The screen sports a 120 Hz refresh rate, with Full HD+ resolution and a respectable peak brightness of up to 1100 nits. This puts the Virat Curve ahead of all other phones in the Virat lineup, including the current top-tier Lava Virat V1 Pro.
Performance-wise, the Lava Virat Curve is decked with the Dimensity 7100 chipset, a first for its Virat series that earlier stuck to the budget Unisoc processors. It is paired with 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of storage. Support for a further 6 GB of virtual RAM is also provided.
The smartphone runs on Android 16 and is slated to get 2 years of OS upgrades along with 3 years of security upgrades. AI features on the Virat Curve include AI Call Summary, AI Voice Translation, AI Circle Search, and Lava's very own Vayu AI.
In terms of battery, the Virat Curve is equipped with a 6000mAh battery, with support for 45W fast charging. Lava claims a single charge can get you 660 minutes (or 11 hours) of YouTube playback.
The camera is another area where the Lava Virat Curve marks a major improvement over the rest of the Virat lineup. The dual-camera setup boasts a 50 MP Sony IMX752 main camera that can record 2K videos at 30 FPS, as well as record 720p slow-motion videos at 120 FPS. On the front, there is an 8 MP selfie camera.
The Lava Virat Curve has USB-C for connectivity and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics. The Lava Virat Curve is a durable phone with military-grade certification for drop and shock resistance. It's IP64-rated for dust and water resistance as well. For stereo sound, the Lava Curve is equipped with dual speakers, along with dual mics for clear calls.
Although Lava hasn't specified the price range, the confirmed specs and upgrades should bring it to around Rs 25,000, which would make it the most expensive of the Virat budget smartphones.
