Nubia has officially confirmed the launch date of its next flagship, the Z80 Ultra. The flagship is all set to launch in China next week, powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest chipset.
Nubia Z80 Ultra will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Nubia took to its official Weibo handle to reveal that the Nubia Z80 Ultra will launch in China on October 22, 2025. Under the hood, the smartphone will be one of the first bunch of phones to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Alongside the launch date, the brand also revealed the phone's refreshed design this year. From the looks of it, the Z80 Ultra maintains the signature boxy design of Nubia flagships with a few key refinements.

The sharp corners and flat edges give the flagship a premium, industrial aesthetic. Meanwhile, the phone comes in the new Light White, Phantom Black and a Starry Sky Collector's Edition colourway.
The rectangular camera module has been reworked a bit and now houses the main and ultrawide cameras at the top, while the periscope sits below.
As for the sensors themselves, the Nubia Z80 Ultra will feature an 18mm ultrawide camera with a large 1/1.55-inch sensor. Additionally, there will be a 35mm 1/1.3-inch Omnivision 990 primary rear camera, accompanied by a periscope telephoto lens capable of up to 50x hybrid zoom with OIS.

The Nubia Z80 Ultra battery capacity was also very recently tipped to be a massive 7,100mAh battery, all while reportedly being 7.8mm thick. Leaks also suggest 90W fast charging support. Meanwhile, on the display front, the upcoming flagship is said to come with a 144 Hz OLED display.
With this mix of gaming muscle and promising imaging hardware, the Nubia Z80 Ultra could very well turn out to be one of the best Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phones upon launch.
