Samsung is currently in the middle of rolling out One UI 9 based on Android 17 to eligible devices. However, it looks like the company is already working on the next major update, One UI 9.5. While One UI 9.5 is still far away, someone managed to flash it on their Galaxy smartphone.

X user Fahad Ali Javed (@fahadalijaved) shared two screenshots showing an early One UI 9.5 build installed on a Galaxy phone. The update is based on Android 17 (CinnamonBun) and the phone is running the October 2026 Google Play system update.

Currently, it is unclear how the user was able to get hold of the One UI 9.5 update. However, it seems like a case of enterprise API manipulation to trick the servers into recognising his Galaxy phone as a One UI 9.5 eligible device to install and download the package.

Aside from proof of the One UI 9.5 build, the user has not shared any more details regarding the update. However, he does say that "much has changed". It could indicate a major shift from One UI 9.0 and something for Galaxy phones eligible for One UI 9.5 to look forward to.

Also, this is not the first time One UI 9.5 has surfaced online. Very recently, a Galaxy S26 FE firmware leak revealed the updated One UI 9.5 software banner with three large curved pink lines, hinting at an OS-level design refresh.

Aside from that, the timing here is worth noting. Samsung has restructured how its update cycle works, with the ".0" and ".5" releases. Builds ending with ".0" are supposed to bring incremental refreshes, whereas ".5" builds are designated for major feature and design refreshes.

Hence, One UI 9.5 is currently expected to launch in 2027 alongside the Galaxy S27 series. If Samsung sticks to its usual cadence, One UI 9.5 could debut in February next year. Until then, the South Korean brand is busy rolling out One UI 9. To know if your phone will receive the update, check out our dedicated One UI 9 eligible device list.
